LTE RF & RAN OPTIMIZATION and TROUBLESHOOTING Part-1 course is a detailed description about LTE RF Optimization, to solve the field performance issues in LTE Radio Networks using UE logs. It covers all the important topics in LTE, beginning from the very basic counters to the radio quality and user plane quality monitoring though KPI analysis, Coverage analysis etc. It contains in-depth explanation of crucial key performance indicators (KPI) to be measured during field trials and deployment phase of new LTE networks. It describes how statistic values can be aggregated and evaluated, and how the network can be optimized during the first stages of deployment, using dedicated examples to enhance the understanding. This course explains how to identify and troubleshoot abnormal network behavior and common failure causes.

In this course, RF measurements related to coverage and interference are also discussed to examine the coverage holes and overlapping regions. We also deal with LTE RF optimization areas such as RRC connection setup, bearer drops, coverage issues.

By following this course, students get the knowledge of how to define LTE RF KPIs and map them to RAN counters, identify various signalling events, identify the RF measurements that are related to coverage and examine them through post processing analysis.
